WAR WOMEN

Photographer Lou Hamilton was commissioned by Wilts County Council, North Wilts District Council and Swindon Borough Council to create an artist film using the county’s archive and records in combination with her own photographs, photographic montages and filming techniques. Lou’s film War Women is a visual exploration of the relationship of women to war over the last 300 hundred years.

Lou has spent a few years photographing Kuljit Bhamra both in the formation of his orchestra KU-DA-MIX and for the front cover of the March edition Disability Now magazine.
Lou Hamilton was commissioned to create a permanent artwork for the new Wiltshire and Swindon History Centre in Chippenham.
